Will’s Pub owner Will Walker shares his personal memories and struggles in a recent newsletter from Will’s Pub:
“19 years of Will’s. What a whirlwind of adventure. I opened Will’s Pub when I was 23. I had never even tended bar. Will’s has taken me through legal battles, closing, attempting to reopen, reopening, skidding to almost bankruptcy, bar fights, yelp, fax numbers, wonderful employees, terrible allies, the greatest upstart bands in the world, trends, fads, craft beer, craft beer again, liquor, babies, pool tables, a smoking addiction, deaths, parties, new friends, judgements, and so much more. I guess you get the point. We’ve been through a lot together. What it’s really been about is being there for you, through the good and the bad. We’re looking forward to serving you a good time for as long as we can endure the changes life has to bring! Join us when you need us! Thanks for the support!” -Will Walker, Owner, Will’s Pub.
Their facebook is literally busting with cool shit they have going on this month. Check it > Will’s Pub Facebook. You can find a full list of events on www.willspub.org
We’ve caught A TON of shows at Will’s pub. Here’s a few of our fondest memories:
- BJ Barham bent me over there.
- Perfect Pussy shredded their stage and left our ears bleeding.
- We explained why Kaleigh Baker doesn’t need this review.
- We watched Bad Veins get shit-faced and rock the fuck out.
- American Aquarium showed us just how strong it’s sutures in Orlando’s heart are.
- I interviewed Scott Lucas from Local H there.
- Then Local H played one of the greatest shows ever.
- We indulged in the deliciousness that is Southern Fried Sunday for their eight year anniversary with Matt Woods.
Now let’s go there and get a fucking drink! 🙂
