Tuffy’s Bottle Shop in Sanford, FL has expanded (againâsee Suffering Bastard) to a full fledged concert venue called “The Music Box,” a 350 capacity roomâbig, open, warehouse vibes.
They first broke down the doors with “Chuck Magid’s Xmas Rager” on December 11, 2020 (one real good thing from 2020). Last week, Shine and the Shakers donned the stage. Now, Chuck Magid has announced a weekly residency at The Music Box with Daniel Heitz. Music starts at 8pm. Two sets. Ends around 11pm. NO COVER (that means, free, gratis, pls buy some beer or house-made cider).
The Music Box venue features a beautiful wood panel stage wall, eccentric custom corduroy curtains, old fashioned vaulted ceiling, and Edison bulbs dancing to the music.
“I’m excited about this being a new music home for me and Daniel. This is the only place we’ll be playing together in town! Stay tuned for an announcement soonâSteeln’ Peaches (a monthly Allman Bros tribute)” âChuck Magid

We appreciate all your support. Right now youâre holding the final issue of SIGT Magazine. Final? Maybe not. But, final for now. Weâve reached an impasse financially. Sadly, weâre unable to sustain our small business any further due to this pandemic. January of 2020 was our best month in business, ever. If it wasnât for January, we wouldn’t have made it to March. If it wasn’t for you, we wouldnât have made it here. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
We hope to be back one day. We really do. Maybe as a magazine. Maybe as event promoters. Maybe as just kids-at-heart who go to shows and write about our feelings. Regardless, until then, weâll miss you.
The only thing we have left to do is publish the final part of the comic (if you were following along). Iâll be personally finishing this over the next month and Iâll make sure everyone gets an email. Just be sure to check out part one of the final episode beginning on page #33.
Itâs not easy giving up something you love. Hell, itâs not easy giving up something you hate. Iâve certainly felt both polar forces through this process of publishing a print periodical. Iâve learned words I didnât know and things about print margins I didnât want to know.
Somewhere between the hundreds of pages weâve put together, lies a little part of my soul. Itâs buried deep beneath the cmyk ink and silk pages we handpicked when we giddily started this. But, it is time to refrain. All beautiful things must come to an end. Like my favorite band in the world, Thursday, said on their first record, Waiting, âWhen people die, they take a piece of us with them.â I honor this. I will grow new limbs. I will stitch together a new heart. Maybe not as good. Maybe better. But for now, I intend to walk away from this with grace. I submit myself to the unknown.
Iâve had so many wonderful times making this magazine. Iâve met so many inspiring people. Iâve had an incredibly unique opportunity to work with some of the coolest people in the world. Iâm forever grateful for these lifelong memories created. I hope you have a happy holidaze and 2021 is a brighter year.
With love, gratitude, and sincerity,
Mitch Foster

P.s. I want you to know how special Hard Rock is to me. They single-handedly kept this magazine afloat through 2020. I appreciate them more than theyâll ever know. Especially Lea âLTâ Reynolds (you may remember her from her radio DJ days). I love you LT. Thank you. Cheers to the future.

I now know how Harry Potter felt sitting by himself in the cupboard just waiting for summer to be over so he could be back with his friends in his special place, frolicking and blossoming into the person he was born to be!
Itâs now been 6 months since my last concert and I am officially going through withdrawal. The global pandemic caused by the spread of COVID-19 has devastated the music community. No longer can music lovers frolic with their friends in theaters, parks and, even the woods. No longer can musicians express themselves musically, telling their story while hopefully earning enough cash to take care of themselves and their family. No longer can these wonderful venues keep their doors open in hopes of an end to this elongated tragedy that has claimed the lives of more than 170,000 Americans. Those who work sound and lights, management, and others are forced to look to other industries in order to make ends meet. The music industry is the first to stop and will be the last to go back to work. The music community canât help but look on with jealousy and disgust as the rest of society opens their doors before it’s deemed safe.
What I wouldnât give to experience another cold, overpriced beer spilling over the sides of my cup as I make my way into a darkening theater⊠What I wouldnât give to have some stranger bump into me and spill said beer in order to appease the show gods! Smiling, I will gladly sacrifice that golden splash in order to keep things right with the universe⊠What I wouldnât give to have my friends trick me at the show again by tapping my shoulder and causing me to look the wrong way⊠What I wouldnât give to have one more golf cart ride through the woods, blasting tunes from party to party.
I miss my festival family and the community we create out of thin air. I miss the feeling you get when the lights go down and the crowd turns up as the band makes their way on stage. I miss being one with the crowd, bouncing and swaying together to the stylings of The String Cheese Incident, Billy Strings, or even Manic Focus.
The list of shows I have missed due to this pandemic is long. Festivals include, but not limited to Welcome to Rockville, Orange Blossom Jamboree, Suwannee Rising, and Reggae Rise Up. While Iâve missed shows including Phish, Metallica, and Roger Waters.
What have you missed? Comment your sad stories below.
In the place of live music we have seen some admirable efforts by bands to fill the void. We have a weekly streaming schedule for jam bands who broadcast from Facebook or YouTube: The String Cheese Incident (Friday), Dead & Company (Saturday), Widespread Panic (Sunday), Metallica (Monday), moe. (Monday), Lotus (Tuesday), Phish (Tuesday), Joe Russoâs Almost Dead (Tuesday). In addition, some groups have gotten together and held live performances in their living rooms, backyards, and studios. Watching these shows live is great and helps suture the hole in my aching heart. But, Iâll be honest â itâs not enough. Even with seemingly unlimited choices of concerts online with good sound I am not satisfied. This weekend I found myself lying on the floor next to the subwoofer, trying to feel the music in my chest. Iâll never forget how it felt at Metallica last year when they started playing and the bass from the woofers was so strong that the hairs on my legs moved back and forth to the music. THAT’S WHAT I’M CRAVING! That thump! That bump. And the improv, the lights, the costumes, the wooks, and the woods!
In the words of the Jackson 5, âI Want You Backâ!
Just because the shows have stopped, doesnât mean that the music ends. While we have been in âQuarâtime some amazing musicians have dropped albums that are worth your time.
I canât wait to get back to my festival family where I belong. Back to the music scene where I found a home amongst kind, funny, courteous and quirky friends. So someone hit me with music, brutalize me with music. Because when you get hit with music, you feel no pain!
