Vanessa Rios, Staff Photographer:
Â
I’m a Florida transplant, born and raised in New York City. I’ve had a passion for music and singing since I was very young. I love entertaining but stopped when I had to leave the performing arts school I was attending to move to Orlando. Music photography was a perfect extension of my passion for art, photography, and music.
Having the opportunity to photograph musicians doing what they love, entertaining a crowd and spilling their guts on stage is such an amazing experience. It’s impossible not to get caught up in the energy of a live performance. Although I am definitely more comfortable behind the camera than anywhere else, music has always stayed in the forefront. I can’t think of any subject matter that makes me feel more alive!
When I’m not behind my camera, you can find me nose deep in a good book, sipping Captain and coke, or painting some questionable artwork.
