Reverend Horton Heat’s witty, culturally aware rockabilly — sometime throwback country, sometime psychobilly in the vein of Hank III — with Unknown Hinson’s hilariously irreverent tales about “likker” is the recipe for a legendary celebration.

Unknown Hinson was born Stuart Daniel Baker in North Carolina, but good luck getting him to say as much. Hinson asserts he is an only child who ran off to join the circus where he learned to lift 25 pound weights with his tongue. After a stint in prison for various charges including vampirism, Hinson returned to touring in 1993 as a talented and hilarious satire of the country stars of the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s.

The Reverend Horton Heat’s name is synonymous with rockabilly. The poster boy for a genre is playing your outdoor stage. His influence can be heard in Shows I Go To favorites like Grandpa’s Cough Medicine. A guy slated at Coachella 2016 is sharing your outdoor stage with Unknown Hinson.

All of that for ten dollars? And Nashville Pussy, too? Those guys sound like the spawn of Guns n’ Roses and Drive-by Truckers.
