Earthday Birthday

For the 24th year, WJRR (Orlando’s rock station) will be holding their epic Earthday Birthday music festival. (Check out our coverage from last year!) If you live in Orlando and love rock music, you probably have been to a few EDBD’s. I myself have been going since I moved down here 10 years ago, and the only show I missed was when our editor/writer Trevor got married on the same day as EDBD 20. If you’ve never been, you should start now! It’s not just an all-day concert, it’s a fun filled day of music, carnival rides, plenty of people watching, and of course, boob painting.

This year on April 22, EDBD will be held at the Central Florida Fairgrounds for the fourth consecutive year. Sublime with Rome, Sick Puppies, Thrice, and Goodbye June are just a few of the bands that will be rocking out. One of my all-time favorite bands, Sevendust, will be making their eighth appearance (true veterans at this fest)! Nonpoint is another regular that will be hitting the stage. Candlebox will be there… they surprised me at EDBD 16 and were my favorite performance of that day. Alter Bridge, with former Orlando native Mark Tremonti, will also be there blasting everyone away with their guitar play. Pepper returns, bringing the Hawaiian reggae vibes to the FLA, along with Orlando’s own reggae rock sensation, The Supervillains.

Sick Puppies is a don’t miss band. I have seen them half a dozen times and the beautiful bassist Emma Anzai is nonstop on stage! It’s sure to be a fun day for all. Just pace yourself people it’s a long day of adult beverages and Rock-N-Roll!

Sublime with Rome are headlining the night. Though Bradley Nowell left the Earth 20 years ago, his music still lives on and will never leave us. I saw them a few years ago, and they play some of their newest music but mostly play great songs from 40oz to Freedom and their self-titled. From hits like “What I Got,” “Badfish” and “Santeria” we will all be in for a treat. CLICK HERE to check out SIGT interview and review/photos from Hard Rock Live Orlando on 11/21/2015.

Hope to see everyone there and special thanks to WJRR for continuing this tradition!
