Heather DeSanctis Premiere Orlando New Music

PREMIERE: “Isolation” by Heather DeSanctis (Headlining Show THIS FRIDAY at Tuffy’s Music Box)

by • August 4, 2021

Heather DeSanctis is blooming. In 2020, right before the pandemic, her single “Why Am I Here?” (a question we can all relate to) dropped and has hit over 119,000 streams on Spotify so far (listen here). Now, we’re here on the flip side of 2021 and she’s about to drop her most honest, introspective single yet, “Isolation” (pre-save here). Heather DeSanctis is making a career out of doing what she loves. You can hear it in her voice, which belts as if pushed from her core; a powerful force.

A practice in grace, “Isolation” takes you into your head for a look around—watching feelings being overturned where they were once hidden. They aren’t wrong, although, they may prompt the inquiry, “Am I broken?”.

I’ve been feeling lonely
Someone should’ve told me
This pain inside my body is something I can’t control
Does that mean that I’m broken?”

[Full lyrics below]

“Isolation” is a maturing moment for Heather. The subject matter is darker, more serious, and personal: “As I processed everything from my past, what was happening to our world in the present, and what was to become of my future, ‘Isolation’ came about. The tone of this song will show you a more serious side of me, hopefully, a relatable one.  Writing this song helped me come to terms with the fact that working through the past is a necessary step in prioritizing my mental health. I’m ready for the world to see me step into this new space of writing with transparency.

This song is a declaration: “I don’t want to live my life as a victim. I want to thrive.” With clear and emotive vocals floating over the dark and earthy drums, this cinematic ballad has a place on every heartbreak playlist from now until eternity.

Be sure to stream “Isolation” when it is released on all streaming platforms on Friday, August 6, 2021.

“Isolation” Lyrics by Heather DeSanctis:

Verse 1
I’ve been feeling lonely
Someone should’ve told me
This pain inside my body is something I can’t control
Does that mean that I’m broken?

It’s more than meets the eye
Feels like I’m kinda paralyzed
They say it’s my head
And if I go to bed
I’ll be just fine
Take this pill and you’ll be alright

Chorus
Isolation causes me temptations
Not worried bout the time cause I’m all up in my mind yea I’m stuck inside my mind

Isolation causes me frustration
It brings me to a place
I don’t want to go please
don’t leave me alone

Verse 2
I don’t want to take these meds
Feeling like I really shouldn’t
Missing the days when
I lost track of time cause I was playing outside
I never really got to play outside

My story’s just begun
Cause I’ve been dying since day one
Used and abused I really couldn’t choose because that deed was done
Oh yes and I was so young

Chorus
Oooooh Isolation causes me temptations
Not worried bout the time cause I’m all up in my mind yea I’m stuck inside my mind

Oooooh Isolation causes me frustration
It brings me to a place
I don’t want to go please
don’t leave me alone

Instrumental

Outro
It’s hard to understand
Why this was the plan
But now I know the way
Because of grace
I can say Amen
Yea I can say Amen
