Will’s Pub is stepping it up (even more) this year. The Mills institution has long stood its ground in competition around town, and in fact, it’s kind of hard to go anywhere else now.

Mayhem on Mills had Orlandoans buzzing when wrestlers came to blows between fast moving traffic on a Sunday afternoon.

Well, Will’s has done it again…but a bit more tame (mayhem of a different kind,) of an event this time around.

“Terribly Wrong” Is the first installment of the Blacksuede Sonics series of audio and visual nights showcasing electronic music that goes beyond the cliches and mainstream trends of trap, dubstep and EDM.”

Too often electronic music is shoved into a filofax with EDM, trap, dubstep and it’s “all encompassing” brand ambassador eye sore of an overlord, the Electric Daisy Carnival.

I’ve never worn a neon tutu while salivating on a cherry limeade ring pop and grinding my teeth under a clusterfuck of lights, but I can’t deny it’s luring temptation sometimes, (and it’s rampant social media presence over the past ten years). My taste buds lean more towards the black licorice which gathers between my molars and comes with a warning.

“Terribly Wrong” will represent the Dark Underground Bass, Industrial Funk, IDM, Drum and Bass, Downtempo/Lofi Hip Hop, Breakcore and Ambient side of electronic music. This is the music gunked to the roof of your mouth; hard to remove, hard to forget.

The lineup is anchored by DJ Kurt Rambus aka DJ Nigel John.

DJ Nigel John was voted Reader’s Choice Best DJ for the Best of Orlando 2016. But, even more so than accolades (and trust me, he has them; opening for Blackalicious, Latryx, Questlove, among others,) is a deep rooted sense of self. His project as Kurt Rambus is a vinyl flipping twisted delight. Twisted because, you’re often not sure if the buildup will ever break.

How long can you stand it?

The Orlando DJ has been testing spines since ’97. ?

Rambus will be joined by Electronic musician, Pressurewave and DJ OLDGOD of REDD.PNDA (DJ CUB,) who are no strangers themselves to rattling the walls of every venue they enter.

An obvious no brainer decision, given the quality of electronic acts on tap. ??
