It’s with heavy rock and roll hearts that we share the passing of Motorhead frontman, Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister today. Lemmy was an inspiration to celebrate life each and every day. He just turned 70 years old on December 24, 2015, just four days before his death. The Shows I Go To team feel extremely lucky to have caught this rock God performing with Motorhead twice this year. First at Riot Fest in Chicago, next at House of Blues Orlando (live photos below).
Our hearts go out to Lemmy’s friends and family. Below is an official statement from Motorhead regarding the passing of Lemmy. All we ask is that you play some Motorhead LOUD and drink heavily to celebrate his life. We’re already doing both. Cheers Lemmy. And thank you for playing as loud as you could, living life to the absolute fullest, and shaking the fucking earth while doing it. May you rock the heavens and hells forever.
