Cook has recorded albums all over the world. Regarding his most recent album, he says “For me, the question has always been: Where did you go? Where did you take your guitar? The short answer this time? Nowhere. And everywhere.” After two decades, eight albums, and trekking across the world in searching for inspiration, innovation and collaboration, the Paris-born, Toronto-raised Cook changed course for his ninth studio album One World, released April, 28th, 2015. Instead of exotic locales, he stayed home in his studio and relied on his own devices uniting the many sects of music.
Many different moods and actions can be caused as a result of the vast span of genres and styles he infuses. One song you relaxing with a glass at wine at dinner, the next song you doing the salsa or swaying with the wind. I really enjoy the track “Beneath Your Skin” from the new album. It can be perfect road trip music. Or, the sound also has a slight dark feel with some down tempo and almost tribal late night vibes that in my opinion would fit nicely with some fire dancing.
