Wilco’s frontman and genius tunesmith Jeff Tweedy is back in the producer’s booth after two brilliant efforts with the legendary Mavis Staples. This time Richard Thompson is receiving the Tweedy touch, Pitchfork reports. Thompson is perhaps best known for his classic “1952 Vincent Black Lightning,” a song that showcases his knack for outstanding storytelling alongside virtuoso guitar picking. “Beatnik Walking” is the new Tweedy-produced song streaming via Aquarium Drunkard right below.
Thompson does not have any tour dates planned in Florida as of yet, but those willing to make the short trip to Atlanta in mid-June are sure to hear some of his new material. His new album is called Still and is set for release on June 23 of this year. Tweedy and Wilco, on the other hand, are in the Sunshine State at Orlando’s Hard Rock Live tonight (4/28) followed by the St. Augustine Amphitheatre this Friday (5/1).
