Today I quote SIGT’s own Garrett East in saying, “Father–no relations to Dads.” That’s right, Father is playing on Monday, July 6th at BackBooth in Orlando with Slug Christ and KeithCharles Spacebar (win tickets below). I’ve never heard of any of these artists before, so I decided to plug my headphones in and get down and dirty in the research.

Father aka Fatheraintshit is an Atlanta based hip hop/alternative/electronic artist, producer and founder of the Awful Records label. Imagine the members of Run The Jewels meet Lil’ Kim, circa 2003, and Tyler the Creator present-day, they all have an orgy and a baby is birthed–that is Father, true father, unknown? Maybe throw some Lil’ Jon in there too (I’m sorry!).

Anyways, Father’s most recent album “Who’s Gonna Get Fucked First?” came out in March 2015, and I’m sure he’ll be playing a bunch of new tracks at this show! Prepare your eyes and ears for “Suicide Party.” 

Both of the artists performing at BackBooth in Orlando with Father also recently put out albums, KeithCharles Spacebar‘s album being titled We’re All a Little Triflin, and Slug+Christ’s album Plant Mentality. These guys are all definitely part of a similar underground hip hop genre. My suggestion is, if you want to do some shots of fireball and dance, this is the show to attend!
