BUY TICKETS TO EARPHUNK AND THE GROOVE ORIENT AT THE SOCIAL IN ORLANDO ON SATURDAY, MARCH 26, 2016 – $10

Earphunk consists of Paul Provosty (Guitar), Mark Hempe (Vocals/Guitar), Christian Gallé (Keys), Michael Comeaux (Bass), and Michael Matthews (Drums). Over the past two years, these guys have been real busy, performing over 200 shows with three trips across the United States and appearances at Electric Forest Festival, Bear Creek Music & Art Festival, and Wakarusa Music Festival. Their relentless efforts have launched them from small club stages to packed clubs and theaters across the country. Their third and latest album Sweet Nasty was recorded at the storied Studio in the Country in rural Louisiana while on break between tour stints. It is certainly their sickest release to date with big sounds and a true interpretation of their live shows. Check out the self-titled track “Sweet Nasty” below.

Check out this live performance of their track “Phine” off the new album to get a sample of the lights and dance that will surround you at their shows.

Local funk-rock gods, The Groove Orient will be opening the show. The band is made up of Harry Ong (Lead Vocals/Bass), Tommy Shugart (Hammond Organ/Electric Piano), Chuck Magid (Electric/Acoustic Guitar/Vocals), David Vanegas (Percussion/Bass/Vocals) and Aaron “Bucky” Buckingham (Drums). They earned the title of Orlando Weekly’s best experimental band of 2014, as well as a feature in Relix Magazine’s 40th Anniversary issue. These dudes have been hitting it hard and definitely show no signs of slowing down. In addition to playing nightly shows in Orlando and the Central Florida area, they have been no stranger to festivals either. They’ve played the Florida Music Festival, WJRR’s Earthday Birthday, and more recently they played Suwannee Hulaween last October which was the largest festival at Suwannee Music Park to date, and they have a slew of festivals coming up in the next few months including Fool’s Paradise, Orange Blossom Jamboree and Purple Hatter’s Ball. Check out this video of their performance last month at a small local festival in Lakeland known aptly as Little Econ Love Fest (watch the video below).
