Corrosion of Conformity and Red Fang are joining the stage at Jannus Live for an evening of stoner rock/doom Valhalla. Seriously, this bill is so epic it’s absurd.
Wylde’s been busy for a while with his possibly-greatest-Black-Sabbath-cover-band ever, Zakk Sabbath. (Read my review here) However, since also not currently touring with genre godfather Ozzy (check them out at Rockville 2018), he’s getting to spend some time with his original squeeze, Black Label Society. They’ve got a new album out, Grimmest Hits, and here’s the video for the new single, “All That Once Shined”:
Long-term purveyors of groove, Corrosion of Conformity are a treat. They’re direct support on this bill, and one of the few bands that I inexplicably haven’t gotten to see live yet. I’ve been digging them since I first heard “Albatross” on the radio in the 90’s. Did I mention the grooves?
Red Fang start out the night. This band musically kicks all the ass while simultaneously having a reputation of not taking themselves even remotely seriously. And I mean that as a complement. Their videos are great, and reflect their propensity for the comedic. Check out “Cut It Short,” which shows gives a glimpse of what it’s like to be in a band with other humans:
Is Friday here yet?
