The last time I saw Anthony was the Saosin headlining mini tour back in March. I got to meet him and the rest of the lads. Chillest dudes ever. I was supposed to see them at the Amphitheatre for Taste of Chaos, but shit happens. Anyway, while all of the Taste of Chaos was going on, Anthony was also starting to promote Pixie Queen, his fourth solo album (out September 9, 2016).
Pixie Queen is his first sober album. Pixie Queen is what he refers his wife as. His wife, Meredith, is on the cover of the album. It’s a tasteful picture of her next to a campfire. This album is solely about them. He wanted a cohesive sound, and from the album stream, I think he nailed it. An acoustic guitar, drums, and a piano/keyboard is Pixie Queen.
Come see Anthony Green and the Bad Dads (Timothy Arnold, Brendan Ekstrom, and Keith Goodwin) this month! Mat Kerekes and Secret Space are opening. It’s the perfect way to start off the Fall season.
