MUST WATCH: 1,000 Rockers Play “Learn to Fly” to persuade the Foo Fighters to play a show in Italy

by • July 31, 2015

Whoever said that a rock band can only have one lead singer, one drummer, one bassist, and a couple of guitars with some backup vocals is full of shit. In an attempt to persuade the Foo Fighters to play a show in the Italian town of Cesena, 1,000 rockers gathered in a rural field to play the Foo Fighters 1999 hit song, “Learn to Fly.”

The video above was posted yesterday (July 30, 2015) on YouTube and within 24 hours the video has gotten almost 5 million views! Whoever the 907 people are that disliked the video (at the time of this being published) are obviously on some new herb or chemical that’s affecting their better judgment. The performance is out of this world that almost gives the Foo Fighters a run for their money … almost.

The video ends with a message from the organizer saying that he’s been working for over a year on this project. The city of Cesena’s far from the likes of major European city’s the Foo Fighters are accustomed to playing. The primary industries that fuel the economy of Cesena are agriculture and handicrafts.

Within hours of the video being posted, the Foo Fighters responded on Twitter by saying “Che bello, Cesena” and “Ci vediamo a presto, Cesena… Davide” which mean “How nice, Cesena” and “See you soon, Cesena… Dave” when translated from Italian.

Looks like the little town of Cesena might be getting what they asked for soon. Will you be going? According to a Google search, 3 star hotels in Cesena are only $70/night! 🙂
