Move out the way, Po-Jama People! Zappa Plays Zappa is bringing their “One Size Fits All” 40th Anniversary” tour to The Plaza live in Orlando on Saturday, September 12, 2015, doors: 8:00 pm / show: 9:00 pm (WIN TICKETS BELOW!).  This leg of the tour includes other Florida stops at Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, Jannus Live in St. Petersburg and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Ponte Vedra Beach.

The 1975 rock album by the legendary Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention is the tenth and last studio album of the band. The album peaked on the Billboard 200 chart at 26. The track “Du Bist Mein Sofa” was released as a single, and the album features one of Zappa’s most complex tracks, “Inca Roads.” Check out this clip of “Sofa No. 1 > Po-Jama People” from Royal Oak, Michigan on 04/03/15.

Dweezil would watch his father (who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995) perform from the side of stage practically since birth. He has been playing guitar since his father first gave him one when he was six years old, and he has been keeping the family tradition alive of one of the most exceptional whizzes in the music world since 2006. Three years later, in 2009, Zappa Plays Zappa won Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 51st Grammy Awards for their performance of the Frank Zappa instrumental classic “Peaches en Regalia.” Dweezil dedicates his Grammy to his late father Frank who dedicated the album it was originally on, Hot Rats, to Dweezil when he was born in 1969. Dweezil transformed his guitar technique before starting Zappa Plays Zappa out of necessity to play his dad’s most sophisticated and challenging melodies, with many new approaches to the guitar.

And for those wanting to take a lesson from the master himself, Dweezil Zappa is hosting his Guitar Masterclass — Dweezil On The Road — at The Plaza Live at 3:30 pm before the show.  For the price of a fuzz pedal (tickets are $75 for this sweet treat), you can learn techniques and concepts from the son of Frank Zappa in a special music camp event he teaches prior to each concert.
