Ticket Giveaway: Yellow Claw |Coming to Venue 578 | Saturday, June 13, 2015

I’m not going to lie, but I had no idea what I was in for when I agreed to write this preview. I had never listened to Yellow Claw. I only knew the name because of one of my friends, Raul, was super interested in the show. When he’s been drinking, he likes to buy drinks for everyone … and also purchase concert tickets on his drunken whim (which always seems like a good idea). 😉

He wound up getting tickets for the Saturday, June 13^th Yellow Claw show at Venue 578. He suggested a few tracks to listen to first since I’ve never listen to this type of music before. After doing some research and learning the type of music (a combination of trap, hard style, hip hop, dubstep, and moombahton) these three DJs from Amsterdam produce, I definitely think differently about the music. (Check out the video for “Shotgun” below).

Production wise, I know there’s a lot that goes into the music, so hearing the final results is pretty exciting! I really like the mixtapes they do. I’m a sucker for a good mixtape. “#8” is their most recent one, and it definitely is a club (or workout) jam. “Run Away,” “Till It Hurts,” and “Shotgun,” featuring Rochelle, are tracks I dig as well.

This music is pretty far off from what I usually listen to, but I respect it. I think I would listen to it for pre-gaming. I know after already being out on the town and a few drinks in, I’d be all about it. In other words, this is going to be a fun show!

Grab a group of friends, have some drinks, and dance the night away and check out Yellow Claw’s show on Friday, June 13^th at Venue 578! You deserve this! 🙂
