106.7 XLent Christmas ft WALK THE MOON, Tori Kelly, Shaggy&more! l Thursday December 17, 2015 l House of Blues Orlando

by • December 17, 2015

I was as close as I will ever get to living one of my childhood dreams this past fall. I was at a WALK THE MOON show. It was extraterrestrial, out of this world, an absolute rocket ride of musical ecstasy. Oh, but that was not my childhood dream. Being in Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century was my not-so-secret teenage fantas. (Hence my all my space references, sorry.) Truly, though, their show is not of any earthly comparison. Their mix of rock, pop, and synth will transcend you into another atmosphere. (I might as well keep going with the space puns; their name begs of it. Make a drinking game out of it!)

The four piece from Ohio possesses an energy that is pretty much unrivaled. They took the stage at The Big Ticket in Jacksonville, faces adorned with war paint; a musical production of ‘Braveheart’ in our own backyard. I didn’t know every word to the songs, and usually when that is the case, my interest fades fast. The beat was undeniable, though. Before I knew it, I was in zero gravity. I was floating between the melodies of “Anna Sun”; “we got no money, but we got heart,” and loosely jitterbugging to “Different Colors” in what little patch of space I could find between the constellations of people. We were stars, all of us. Imploding with the cataclysm of sound in front of us, our white hot happiness spread across Metropolitan Park.

The House of Blues Orlando is about to become your very own time machine, and the year is 2051. That’s right, Zenon: The Zequel is here in the form of WALK THE MOON. Luckily, this is one of the few sequels that does justice to the original. And the foursome is no different. Every time they perform it’s with an unmatched enthusiasm and wild charisma.

The venue in Disney Springs is sethost 106.7’s XLent Christmas this year and the above-mentioned band is not the only reason to boast about the lineup. Tori Kelly, Shaggy, and Before You Exit will all be in tow and in high spirits! We can only hope Tori Kelly does her own soulful version of “All I Want for Christmas is You.” Mariah, who? Perhaps Shaggy will treat us with his signature thick reggae tone dripping over “I’ll be Home for Christmas.” Whatever is in store for us, it’s sure to be astronomical! I’m personally going to take the opportunity to dawn my silver liquid leggings and prance around the House of Blues like Microbe themselves are playing; Nicholas Pettrica my very own Prota Zoa. Swoon. Find out below how to win tickets! Are you still drinking to my space references? Orion’s Belt. *gulp* Astronauts. *tip it back* Does a Star Wars reference count? Death Star *DRINK* Okay, enough. Cheers!
