Despite his love for performing, Smith wasn’t always dead set on becoming a full time musician. He grew up in Jefferson, Georgia listening to country music and playing guitar in his free time. Smith attended the University of Georgia where he majored in Social Studies. While in college, he began writing music and performing locally at friends’ parties and around town. By the age of 28, he took a leap of faith and left his teaching job where he taught geography, history and guitar to pursue music full time.
Smith grew up with the standard country music genre tropes of trucks, beer, backroads, and bonfires yet he wrote music that reflected a more natural viewpoint of what it was to be a country boy in the 21st century. His first self-produced album, Undertones was released in 2003 later followed by “In the Mood.” Over the course of the next few years, Smith has gone on to release 11 albums, has worked with famous producer Keith Stegall (known for his work with the Alan Jackson and the Zac Brown Band, and has signed with Sugar Hill Records.
Smith has sold over 1 million concert tickets, 1.5 digital singles and over 220,000 albums. He is known for his dedicated fans who love his unique take on realism that aligns with their views about what it’s like to live in small town country living. With over 1.13 million streams on Spotify each month, it’s simple enough to say this is a show you will not want to miss out on. As a jack of all trades, this 24-year-old made her initial appearance in Law & Order Special Victims Unit in 2011. However, Sabrina is probably most known for her multiple acting roles on Disney Channel. She acted as the main role in the comedy series, “Girl Meets World” that lasted from 2014-2017, then later in the television series “Adventures in Babysitting.” Following these years of main roles, Carpenter has also starred in several other feature films whether in front of the camera or behind it. She has starred in films such as “Horns,” and “The Hate U Give,” as well as made a face for herself in the Netflix film industry by acting in series “Tall Girl” and its sequel, “Work It.” An actor nonetheless, Sabrina has acted on stage in 2020 for “Mean Girls” on Broadway. She also has made a voice for herself outside of music by voice acting for multiple films and tv shows. Oh, and she’s modeled for Rhianna’s lingerie brand Savage X Fenty. But nonetheless, we’re here to talk about music. And damn is she good at that too.
Carpenter’s love for music came at the young age of 10 when she began posting videos on YouTube of her singing. She cites that the first songs she learned were “Crazy” by Patsy Cline and “At Last” by Etta James. Her supportive father built a recording studio for her and that only sparked her love and passion to continue in music. Sabrina’s first major moves were when she entered and placed third in a singing contest run by Miley Cyrus, “The Next Miley Cyrus Project.” From there on out, she has released songs through Radio Disney such as “Can’t Blame a Girl For Trying” and has written and performed songs for Disney Channel movies and shows that she has acted in. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Carpenter appeared in a charity event that supported Doctors Without Borders by singing her version of “If the World Was Ending.” By the next year, she released her single “Skin” which debuted at 48 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In July 2022, “Vicious” was released as her third single prior to the debut of her album, Emails I Can’t Send — making a statement with number 23 on the US Billboard 200 and 55 on the Canadian Album charts, making this her highest entry on both charts to date. She has worked with Skyler Stonestreet, an American musician and songwriter known to be a writer on tracks for Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Dua Lipa as well as working alongside John Ryan best known for co-producing for One Direction.

Inspired by names like Vaughan, Hendrix, and Dylan, at the age of 15, Johnson joined his first professional band, Mariani, a psychedelic rock group. After years of performing live and acting as a session guitarist for some well-known names like Cat Stevens, Carole King, and Christopher Cross, Johnson released his debut album in 1986 called Tones. The next year, the second to last track called “Zap” off that album was Grammy nominated for Best Rock Instrumental Performance, showing early on that Eric Johnson was something special.
A few years later with the release of his second album Ah Via Musicom, the world would be gifted with Johnson’s greatest hit “Cliffs of Dover”. One of my personal favorite instrumental guitar songs, the violin-like tone of Johnson’s 1954 Fender Stratocaster “Virginia” is unlike any other tone in rock and roll, and he sure does know how to use it.
Many years and even more Grammy nominations later, Eric Johnson is still exuding his divine guitar playing powers for the world to see. K-pop is perpetually rising in American culture. Although it’s been infiltrated in the US since around the 1950s, a lot of attention was drawn to the genre in 2012 when the worldwide famous “Gangnam Style” by PSY wowed the nation with its repetitive chorus and choreography. Since then, the admiration for Korean Pop music has grown exponentially within the US, Canada, South America and Europe.
One of the hottest names in the scene is Sik-K, an independent South Korean rapper and vocalist, who is mostly known for his “auto-tuned” style — influenced heavily from Travis $cott, Drake and Wiz Khalifa. Born in 1994, Kwon Min-sik (Sik-K) was born in Seoul. He lived briefly in Vancouver, British Columbia as a teenager before returning to South Korea to pursue music. He attended Sejong University where he majored in Management. In 2015, he gained initial attraction by participating in the fourth season of Show Me The Money, a rap competition show that debuted weekly. Later that year, he released his first solo single entitled “My Man.”
In 2016, Sik-K signed with H1gher Music and released multiple singles, EP’s, collaborations and mixtapes. His EP’s like H.A.L.F (Have.A.Little.Fun) and his studio debut FL1P put him on the map and his name began to circulate. Shortly after the release for FL1P, the album peaked at 28 on the Gaon chart. By 2020, he enlisted in the army for his mandatory military enlistment. He was later discharged around the time the COVID-19 pandemic became a global issue worldwide. Despite the sudden life changes and tribulations, Kwon continued his musical pursuit and in the summer of 2020 released his album, Headliner.
In the last couple of years, Sik-K has been continuing to produce and work with multiple artists that have only contributed to his success and popularity as an artist. As of next month, he will be venturing on his North American tour. We are lucky that here in central Florida, we can see him perform live!
