Being the informed voter that you are, I’m sure you’ve read the papers, seen the shows, streamed the new album…what was that? You actually didn’t vote? You’re not even from Orlando? You’ve never watched Trailer Park Boys?

Gary Lazer Eyes, Austin Young(vocals/guitar), Sean Gray(guitar/vocals), Stephen Gillen(bass), Michael Otero(drums), have been hard at work since their first EP release in 2015, Black And White, to keep producing music while growing up and out from their small beach town of Melbourne, FL. Their sound is indelibly influenced by their oceanside upbringing with notes of trop-rock woven through a solid grunge foundation.

Summer sixteen came in hot for the dudes when they dropped a new single, “Galapagos”, off their OUT NOW EP, High On Lies. The track waves you in from offshore in the distance with bright guitars and comes in hot with Young’s perfectly scruffy vocals dragging you in out of the tide. The EP is rich in depth showing off the band’s malleability to move through genres from stoner rock to even a little funk. Better than streaming High On Lies on all the endless platforms at your fingertips, is the undeniable groove factor of their live performance.

At least one member is liable to have a bottle of Jack Daniels by their bare feet and flick off all cameras in their line of sight at any given moment. Truly, though, this band has an effervescent stage presence which makes for an unforgettable evening of music by people with an honest and true appreciation for the craft. It’s a damn good time.

Lend them a couch. Buy them a shot. Or just go dance a little. Gary Lazer Eyes heard your voice and is bringing great Florida rock to your neck of the woods. Even if you didn’t vote, it’s okay, they don’t pay taxes either.
