TICKET GIVEAWAY: Howie Mandel | Hard Rock Live Orlando| Coming January 4 2015

Most people know Howie Mandel as the host of “Deal or No Deal” or “America’s Got Talent.” It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized what a huge role Howie Mandel played in my childhood. He was the voice everyone’s favorite Mogwai, Gizmo in the Gremlins films. He also created one of the greatest Saturday morning cartoons of all time, Bobby’s World. Bobby’s World was based on Mandel’s four year old alter ego, “Bobby” that originated in his stand-up routine in the 80’s. At age eleven, Mandel accidently created the voice of Bobby while he was choking on a piece of cake.  Mandel used the same voice to play “Skeeter” in another one of my childhood favorites, Muppet Babies.

Nowadays, Howie Mandel is a judge on “America’s Got Talent” and the producer of his own prank show called “Howie Do It” but he still has a love for stand-up comedy.  This Sunday, Mandel makes a rare stand-up appearance at Hard Rock Live Orlando.  This set of dates only consists of a few Florida appearances and two shows in Arizona so don’t miss your chance to see this comic legend in his natural element (win tickets below).

Little Monsters

The first time I remember actually seeing Howie Mandel was in the 1989 film Little Monsters. Mandel plays “Maurice”, a blue monster from under the bed who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a boy played by actor, Fred Savage. Although this film did not do well in theaters, it went on to be a hit on home video. (This was probably due to the amount of times I rented this movie since it was not available to purchase.) 🙂
