The Gaslight Anthem, Gogol Bordello, Trampled By Turtles, and Mutemath are main festival support for Modest Mouse. We’re huge fans of all of these bands. The new Gaslight Anthem album is emotionally charged to 100% with personal lyrics about the shitty divorce lead singer, Brian Fallon, went through during the writing process. It’s fucking gold and it came in at #3 of Tyler’s best albums of 2014. I was sold when I heard the first single and title track “Get Hurt.” Check it out below and catch them at Gasparilla Music Festival.

Gogol Bordello screams gypsy dance party, which is synonymous with FUN. There’s nothing that I could do to prevent myself from moving my feet to their hit tune, “Lost Innocence World.” Check it out here and catch Gogol Bordello at Gasparilla Music Festival!

The last time I saw Mutemath they opened for 30 Seconds To Mars at House of Blues in Orlando. I’m a drummer. I look up to the drummer of Mutemath in every way. His stage presence; his relentless tempo changes and peaking BPMs. When they walked onto the stage, the drummer sat down, put some bulky headphones on (which made me scawl) and proceed to wrap duct tape around them and his entire head to secure them in place. I was puzzled, to say the least.

Throughout the first song they performed that night, he completely dismantled his drum set and by the end of the song he was standing atop his toppled over bass drum and beating the shit out of the head, while remaining on tempo with the song. We had the privilege of catching Trampled by Turtles at House of Blues in Orlando in December 2014. Dainon called them “the Metallica of bluegrass.” Yes, it’s pretty accurate. What a perfect addition to the already diverse and promising lineup at Gasparilla Music Festival!

Additionally our local friends in Roadkill Ghost Choir will be sharing the stage with some of these greats. And, one of our all-time favorites, Thomas Wynn And The Believers will be at Gasparilla Music Festival too! Thomas Wynn “shook our souls” last year. And, another time, they screamed at Dainon for almost 2 hours. We’re really excited to catch Thomas Wynn and The Believers in a festival atmosphere like this. It’s going to rule.
