TICKET GIVEAWAY: Comedian Tom Papa | Coming To The Plaza Live | Friday, March 27, 2015

Tom Papa has come a long way since his he began his stand-up career in New York City in 1993. He started off doing ā€œbringerā€ shows where he had to convince his friends to buy tickets to the show as well as two drinks inside in exchange for ten minutes of stage time. Tom Papa did so well that he soon found himself opening for huge comics like Jon Stewart. And the opportunity gave him the exposure he needed to finally break out.

During the end of his run on Seinfeld, Jerry Seinfeld was going around to comedy clubs scoping out the scene for his return to stand-up. Seinfeld stumbled upon Tom Papaā€™s act several times and was so impressed that he came up to him at the end of the show and told him that he was “really funny.” Within a year, Tom Papa was traveling the country opening for Jerry Seinfeld, something he still does to this day.

Over the years Tom Papa has been involved in numerous different projects within the industry. He hosts his own radio talk show on Sirius XM called ā€œCome to Papa,ā€ in which he conducts in depth interviews with some of the biggest stars in entertainment like Mel Brooks and Alec Baldwin. He was also the host of the Jerry Seinfeld produced reality show ā€œThe Marriage Refā€ on NBC. In 2009, Tom Papa co-wrote and starred in the Rob Zombie directed animated film The Haunted World of El Superbeast. He wanted his next stand-up special, ā€œTom Papa: Live in New York City,ā€ to have the feel of an actual film so he enlisted his friend Rob Zombie to direct it. His latest special ā€œTom Papa: Freaked Outā€ was produced by Zombie and is available on Netflix. (See video below)

Tom Papa will be bring his unique brand of observational comedy to The Plaza Live on Friday, March 27 2015 (win tickets below). I recently watched both of the specials I listed above and they were both hilarious! šŸ™‚
