My good friends, The Western Sons, are hosting a release party at the Social this Friday April 1st, 2016 in support of their debut album “Frontiers”. The Son’s are a University of South Florida made and Melbourne-based Americana/Rock band that combine great songwriting and catchy melodies that will have you feeling triumphant like a god damn modern John Wayne.  Having shared the stage with international acts such as Young the Giant and Andy Grammar, the Son’s are no stranger to the big stage and you can hear it in their debut album.  “Frontiers” features songs that could just as soon be heard in arenas, although, this Friday you will be hearing them in Orlando’s most desired intimate venue.  

The band is comprised of Garrett Carr (Bass/Lead Vocals), Tyler Cohenour (guitar/vocals), Blake Rigdon (Guitar/Keys/Vocals) and Kyle Meggison (Drums). The combined vocal performance of Garrett and Tyler typically leave women young and old swooning for more, all the while Blake shreds the shred and Kyle maintains the percussive skeleton.  In addition to being excellent musicians, the Son’s are a band of genuinely good dudes.  I’m not exactly sure why but it makes the show that much better when you can root for the guys onstage. This album has grown on me so much since my first listen. I’ve grooved my hips to Mysterious and sang my heart out to 49, not to mention their debut single Send My Love, which has a killer visual allowing you to get a good look at the Son’s in action before this Friday night.
