TICKET GIVEAWAY: The Claypool Lennon Delirium | The Beacham Orlando | Saturday, June 4, 2016

When I heard that The Claypool Lennon Delirium was coming to The Beacham, I immediately typed the name into Google to see if what I heard was correct. Les Claypool from Primus and the amazing Sean Lennon (John Lennon’s son) had indeed started a side project. I couldn’t even imagine what a collaboration between these two great musical minds would sound like. The first song I came across was called Cricket and The Genie which showcases Claypool’s killer bass skills as well as Lennon’s signature voice (See video below).

Les Claypool is one of the most eclectic bassist of all time. He is most well-known from his band Primus but has had numerous other musical projects throughout the years like Oysterhead, Les Claypool’s Flying Frog Brigade, and Les Claypool’s Duo de Twang. The Claypool Lennon Delirium is shaping up to be just as great or better than these past projects. Check out Les Claypool and Primus’ video for the classic “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver” below!

I first discovered the music of Sean Lennon back in 2006 when he released his solo album Friendly Fire. This album completely blew me away when I heard it and it still holds up today. In 2008, Lennon formed The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger with his girlfriend Charlotte Kemp Muhl. This project was very different from his solo work but it further solidified his musical legacy.  Check out the video that started it all for me below!
