When T-Pain released his first album, Rappa Ternt Sanga, in 2005, he was doing something that was unprecedented, auto tune. It had been used before but not as successfully as T-Pain was doing. He had proved that autotune could be used and not ruin a song, but enhance it, as he’s a surprisingly talented singer (see 2014 Tiny Desk video below). This summer T-Pain is hitting the road once again, with two days in Florida. On May 24, T-Pain will be in Tampa at The Ritz Ybor (TICKETS HERE) and on May 25 he will be at the House of Blues in Orlando (TICKETS HERE).
His first album is very 2005, melodic hip-hop with the auto tune shining through, enriching each song. Figuring his way through the first album, he begins to find his sound on his second album, Epiphany, released in 2006. Stepping further away from the melodies in his second album it becomes more hip-hop with flashy beats and a handful of features that round the album out. Over the next decade T-Pain would release 6 more albums each expanding and enhancing the autotune sound that garnered him so many fans. With more guest appearances on other artists work than most artists, he enriched so many songs by gracing them with the autotune sound that he had perfected.
Over the pandemic T-Pain came back in a big way with a re-established presence that made news instantly. Coming back with Tiktok and Instagram, he emerged, back into the arms of the adoring fans that made him so successful. Returning, T-Pain began to sing more rather than rap, adding his voice to songs.
With only a single month of dates released, make sure to buy tickets to see T-Pain while you can. This is definitely a show that no one is going to want to miss as the rap icon can put on a brilliant show! Make sure to get tickets while you still can as T-Pain attracts a crowd and the shows might sell out!
