FREE FESTIVAL PREVIEW — Sing Out Loud Starts This Weekend in St. Augustine: 100+ FREE Performances

by • September 3, 2026

Sing Out Loud Festival starts this weekend! The 10th annual celebration turns St. Augustine into one giant, citywide music venue with 100+ FREE live music performances across 17 venues over three weekends: September 4–6, 11–13 and 18–20, 2026.

This is your invitation to spend September bouncing between breweries, neighborhood bars, outdoor courtyards, listening rooms and beloved local institutions—all without buying a festival wristband. Pick a venue, catch an artist you already love, walk a few blocks, discover your next favorite band and repeat until your ears, legs or phone battery tell you it is time to stop.

▼ WEEKEND ONE SIGT PICKS: SEPTEMBER 4–6 ▼

FRIDAY — HOLLY DAYLE: Start the festival at Spinster Abbott’s on Friday, September 4. Holly Dayle plays from 6:00–7:00 PM, followed by Jose Pineiro Trio and Ímã. Show up early, grab something cold and let the first night set the pace for the month.

SATURDAY — GLIZZY GILLESPIE: Saturday night belongs to Glizzy Gillespie. Head to Shanghai Nobby’s on September 5, where Glizzy Gillespie kicks off the late-night lineup from 9:00–9:45 PM before Lady Ybor and Naum carry it toward midnight. Nobby’s is exactly the kind of room where Sing Out Loud shines: intimate, loud and primed for the night to get a little unhinged.

SUNDAY — PATRICK HAGERMAN: Close Weekend One at Colonial Oak Music Park on Sunday, September 6 with one of our favorites. Patrick Hagerman’s Musical Pecha Kucha appearance begins with a short talk at 8:40 PM followed by a solo set from 8:50–9:20 PM. Songs, stories and one of St. Augustine’s most inviting outdoor stages make this a perfect Sunday landing.

FRIDAY — AOIFE O’DONOVAN: Start Weekend Two with singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Aoife O’Donovan at Spinster Abbott’s on Friday, September 11 from 9:00–10:00 PM.

SATURDAY — TIERNEY TOUGH: Honestly, the Saturday lineup at Ink & Barley is fire from top to bottom. Tierney Tough starts at 5:00 PM, Lexi Long follows at 6:30 PM and Marissa Christine closes at 8:00 PM. Catch the whole thing. This is exactly what the free showcases are built for: three artists, one room and a full evening of discovery without spending a dollar at the door.

SUNDAY — DUNIES: Dunies at Spinster Abbott’s on Sunday, September 13 is firmly on our list. Dunies play from 6:00–7:00 PM, followed by Last Resort and Trustfall.

▼ WEEKEND THREE SIGT PICKS: SEPTEMBER 18–20 ▼

FRIDAY — CLAIRE VANDIVER: Start the final weekend with Claire Vandiver at Colonial Oak Music Park on Friday, September 18 from 6:00–7:00 PM. She opens a three-act evening with Thomas Allain and Alyse Dione, and Colonial Oak is one of the best places in the city to ease into a weekend while the sun goes down.

SATURDAY — THIS WHOLE LINEUP: We are stamping the entire Saturday night lineup at Shanghai Nobby’s with the SIGT seal of approval: Meatwound at 9:00 PM, The Dismissives at 10:00 PM, Tides at 11:00 PM and Too Many Daves at midnight. Four bands packed into one sweaty late-night run is exactly how you send the final Saturday of free showcases into orbit.

SUNDAY — THE F*CKING MERMERS! The Mermers hit Spinster Abbott’s on September 20 from 6:00–7:00 PM, opening a closing-night bill with The Kreepy Tikis and Loose Touch. If you know, you know. If you do not, this is your chance to fix that for free.

Sing Out Loud is also an excellent excuse to explore the Nation’s Oldest City. Between sets, leave time for the beaches, state parks, historic streets, locally loved restaurants and nightlife. The venues are part of the experience, and the walk from one stage to the next can become its own St. Augustine adventure.

▼ PRO TIP: GET AN EPIC GRILLED CHEESE AT SARBEZ! ▼

Between sets, make time for gourmet grilled cheese, craft beer and arcade games at Sarbez! at 115 Anastasia Boulevard. Vegan options are available, too.

Plan Your Sarbez! Stop →

The SIGT order: build your own on sourdough with cheddar, Sarbez Sauce, bacon, hash browns, avocado and pickles. Live music is better with melted cheese. This is science.

▼ BUILD YOUR SING OUT LOUD WEEKEND ▼

Come for one set or make a whole weekend out of it. Bring comfortable shoes. Leave extra travel time because St. Augustine is St. Augustine. Support the venues pouring the drinks, serving the food and making space for the music. Tip the bartenders. Buy something from the artists if they have merch. And keep checking the official schedules, because artists and times can change.

Most importantly, take a chance on somebody you have never heard before. With 100+ free performances spread across 17 venues, Sing Out Loud is not just a series of shows—it is an invitation to explore the city through music. You could walk into a room because admission is free and walk out with a new favorite band. That is the magic.
