Former allies beef all the time in hip hop. And now a new beef is simmering over social media and on stage. That’s after Cudi felt the need to bring both Kanye and Drake to task in a Twitter tirade. Yeezy didn’t take to kind to that, responding to Cudi that “I birthed you” on stage at one of his shows. Will this one get worse before it gets better?

JAY Z CALLS THE WAR ON DRUGS AN “EPIC FAIL”

Jay has talked at length in his music about his past as a hustler on the corner. Now he’s taken to the New York Times to give a short history on the War On Drugs and how it has negatively impacted communities of color. It’s a bold move for Hov. The four-minute video can be seen below.

NEW 2PAC BIOPIC TRAILER HITS THE NET ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF HIS DEATH

The new trailer arrived on September 13, the 20^th anniversary of Pac’s death. Judging from the footage, it could be a hit in the vein of what Straight Outta Compton was in 2015. The hip hop biopic movie is officially getting another upgrade. Here’s the trailer.

VINCE STAPLES KICKS OFF A MUSIC PROGRAM AT A LONG BEACH YMCA

On the heels of his critically acclaimed album Prima Donna, Vince is doing something for his hometown. In partnership with Levi’s, he’s creating a music technology program for youth in Long Beach, CA. Here’s a video announcement of the partnership.

LIL MAMA AND RAH DIGGA COME AT NICKI MINAJ

Taking shots at someone who seemingly has the top spot is a common practice in hip hop. Rah Digga and Lil Mama seem to be no exception. This week, Lil Mama seemingly defended Lil Kim against Nicki on Instagram, while Rah Digga took her turn by saying Minaj’s former beau Safaree wrote Nicki’s rhymes. Ouch!
