Growing up, Ferrell always expressed an interest in singing and playing music but didn’t act on it until her early 20’s. Around this time, she left her hometown of West Virginia and journeyed across the country with a troupe of nomadic musicians, playing everywhere they could. The group traveled everywhere from New Orleans to Seattle until she finally landed in Nashville and scored herself a record deal with Rounder Records in 2019.

Ferrell’s music is deeply rooted in the classic country and bluegrass traditions of her native West Virginia, but her sound is modern and fresh, blending in influences from rock, blues, and even punk. Her debut album Long Time Coming, released in 2021, has been praised by critics and fans alike for its raw emotion, haunting melodies, and fearless songwriting. With standout tracks like “Jeremiah,” “In Dreams,” and “Why’d Ya Do It,” the album showcases Ferrell’s incredible range and versatility as a performer.
