Which is more astonishing: the instant slamming entry of PUP’s latest song, “DVP” or the slew of classic ‘80s and ‘90s video games that are compacted into the video?

You decide …

It’s about time the Toronto punks graced us with new music, but damn, do they deliver. Your buds in the band are pretty disappointed that your sister ditched them, so of course it’s a venting session. Which happens to involve Kirby, Mega Man, Street Fighters, and Pikachu, to name just a few.

As the words go:

I get so drunk that I can’t speak
Yeah, I’m just looking and the future’s looking bleak and I say

Maybe if they enlisted the help of this batch of pixelated pop culture icons, maybe my sister would think about taking you back? She’s probably a little bummed that you’re fucked up after only three beers, too. *cough* LIGHTWEIGHT!!! *cough* If she won’t, maybe Princess Peach will take you instead.

“DVP” is a jolting, hardcore experience that does it best with an ephemeral whine. It’s jagged, fast, and tailored to the snapback-wearing pop punks. It’s all in good fun, right?
