This is going to be a huge warehouse party celebrating the baddest man to live — Prince. Itā€™s happening at Orange Studio (the bright orange building, we wish it was purple, too) on Mills Avenue in Orlando, FL on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 9pm – 2am. Music starts at 9pm sharp. 21+ are encouraged to wear purple or purple-esque attire to this audio and visual celebration. šŸ˜Ž

When ShowsIGoTo.com was shaken by Princeā€™s untimely passing, we knew we had to do something. Several of our writers teamed up and wrote about the great artist from a personal, semi-cathartic place. Please read “A SIGT Tribute toĀ Prince” here.

When speaking with DJ BMF, he shared:

many people contacted me immediately after Princeā€™s passing, asking about a tribute party. I barely had time to even wrap my head around one of my idols passing before friends and fans were requesting me to put something together. I knew I had to do something great.ā€

And, he delivered, in a huge way. The ā€œErotic Cityā€ Prince Tribute Party is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that Orlando has never seen before. SIGT is proud to be part of such a unique celebratory event.

DJ BMF started his career in 1989 and has reached legendary status throughout his career. Heā€™s one of the only DJs in the entire country to perform an ā€œall 7-inch vinyl setā€ residency which happens every Friday night at Lil Indies in Orlando, FL. He was a founding member of the tremendous ā€œPhat-N-Jazzyā€ club night, one of the longest running club nights in America during its prime.

One of the things Iā€™m personally most excited for is he mentioned heā€™s going to be controlling the video projections on the walls with his turntables! Heā€™s always been a forward thinker when it comes to audio and visual experiences. Enjoy your night in the presence of an Orlando legend.

DJ Nigel John is a humble and talented human being from Trinidad & Tobago. Heā€™s been mixing his eclectic, genre-hopping style into the dancing, funky ears of fans since ā€˜97. DJ Nigel John has shared the stage with many greats like Questlove, Brazilian Girls, and more. One of my favorite mixes is his ā€œSumma Dressā€ mix. Enjoy it below. šŸ™‚

Andrew Spear is an artist from Manhattan–thatā€™s the very least I could say about this amazing man. His extensive career has led him to work with some of the greatest artists of many different generations — Beastie Boys, Nirvana, Run The Jewels, Outkast, The Darkness, Boyz Noize, Mstrkrft, and most recently, Bruce Willis. He has painted my favorite murals around town (most notably, the one on the side of Little Saigon). Spear was featuring by local Orlando news stations while he was painting the Price Mural behind Hideaway Bar.

Prince Tribute Party Orlando

Chip Critcher grew up in the service industry. His mother purchased The Hideaway Bar on Virginia Avenue around 1980. The bar was originally founded in 1960 and has remained a staple in the Orlando community. The No Fee ATM was Chipā€™s idea and his courteous staff will be tending a cash-only mobile bar at the event, fueling your dance moves under the disco ball.
