The word ‘virtuoso’ is thrown around a lot when Dave LaRue is the topic of conversation, and there is a lot to talk about when it comes to the talented bassist. He is a member of the pop group Flying Colors as well as the instrumental bands Dixie Dregs and the Steve Morse Band. The technical skills he possesses have not gone unnoticed in the guitar world as he’s been called upon by some of the greats; Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Vinnie Moore, The Hellecasters, Pat Travers, Steve Lukather, Mike Stern, Eric Johnson, Andy Timmons are just some of the names he’s worked with. LaRue places emphasis on education as much as performance. The bass player has written a column for Bass Player Magazine and taught classes at Stetson University to eager youngsters ready to soak in his experience. Virtuoso is not far off, indeed. In fact, it’s right on the mark for the caliber of artist Dave LaRue is. And tonight you get to see him on the best intimate stage in town. LaRue will be joined by the award winning Travis Larson Band and instrumental progressive rock band Magic Elf. This going to be a pen and paper type night.
