In 1997, I was given the soundtrack to the movie I Know What You Did Last Summer as a gift. It featured songs from a bunch of different bands from that era like Korn, L7 and “Clumsy” by Our Lady Peace. I had heard Our Lady Peace’s other singles “Starseed” and “Superman’s Dead” but it was “Clumsy” that convinced me to buy their album, of the same name. Clumsy is one of those albums that you can listen to from start to finish because every song is just that great. I have had the opportunity to see Our Lady Peace live three times in a five year span but sadly I haven’t seen them since 2002. That will all change when Our Lady Peace plays House of Blues Orlando on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 with A Brilliant Lie (Win tickets below)

Just when I thought I couldn’t love Our Lady Peace any more, they released the Raymond Kurzweil-inspired concept album Spiritual Machines in 2000. This album was not as much of a commercial success as some of their previous albums but it is a favorite among fans. In 2009, Our Lady Peace set out on a tour across Canada and a few U.S. cities where they recreated both Clumsy and Spiritual Machines from start to finish. Unfortunately, it didn’t come anywhere near me in Orlando. Check out “Right Behind You” from Spiritual Machines below.

Orlando’s own melodic rockers, A Brilliant Lie will be opening the show as they prepare to embark on their fall tour in support of Threads: Cutter, which is the first EP in a three EP collection entitled Threads. The tour begins in Orlando with Our Lady Peace and ends in Melbourne where A Brilliant Lie will open for Matt and Kim at FIT Homecoming. You can pick up your copy of Threads HERE and listen to the first single “Circles for Sewing” below. Make sure to get there early and show them some hometown support! 🙂
