Grammy nominated artist, Stugill Simpson is up for “Album of the Year” and made several of our staff’s “Best of 2017 list — Best Shows, Best Albums, Best Songs, Best Moments.” His album, Sailors Guide To Earth, is “a roadmap for his son to navigating existence — the record feels like a deliberate list curated most delicately from the deepest reaches of undying love. The love only a father can understand or express.” The album is flawless, and includes my favorite cover of 2016 — Nirvana’s “In Bloom.”
