There are very few artists that are able to create a sound that is so new and fresh that I cannot help but to listen to, one of these artists is Omar Apollo. A friend turned me onto them after they released Apolonio in 2020, and from there in I was hooked. On May 27, 2022m Omar Apollo will be performing at the House of Blues in Orlando (TICKETS HERE!). Anyone who is in town needs to see this show, I will be there and everyone should come.

Apollo is the definition of what it means to be an alternative artist, they do not fit a pattern or one genre. Their music spans different sounds within one album, and the body of work as a whole tells the story of a person trying to find their way through life. Losing people, loving people, the trials and tribulations we all experience packaged in the most meaningful and relatable way. His voice shines over elegantly crafted beats that make ever lyric flow as if they were a subtle breeze on a hot summer’s day.

On Apolonio they showcased their ability to rap on “I’m Amazing” and their ability to harmonize and bring you in with their voice in “Kamikaze”.

Nothing about Omar really makes sense, there is no formula to their success, there is only talent that they possess. On their latest release, Ivory, there is a change in pace, transitioning to more melodic vocals with slower beats. The seventh track, “Go Away”, showcases the beautiful voice that they have. Ivory as a whole is an album full of different sounds, ranging from the slow R&B to a more soulful pop sound.

Omar Apollo is the future of the music industry, with a sound unlike any other, he is sure to have an amazing career and put on an absolutely stunning show!
