We all know who the band Nirvana was. Whether you got to experience their music as it came out in the ’90s or you’re a newcomer, all are welcome to enjoy the most well-known grunge act of all time. To kick-off Grungefest! at House of Blues Orlando, the band Nirvanna – Tribute to Nirvana will be there Saturday, May 7th to crank out your favorite hits and B-sides from the band we know and love. To turn it up to 11, the groups Still Alive and Lovesong, tribute bands for Pearl Jam and The Cure respectively, will also be there to help blow the roof off the place. (GET TICKETS HERE!)

Based right here in Orlando, Nirvanna (pronounced Nirv-an-uh) has been keeping the legacy alive for over seven years, not just playing the songs, but embodying the soul and energy of Nirvana. It is no small feat to pay tribute to the Kings of Grunge, but Nirvanna does it exceedingly well with their sludgy guitar tones, intense drumming that could make Grohl cry, and Cobain’s signature searing vocals. Speaking as a person born at the turn of the millennium, I was a few years off from hearing Cobain, Grohl, and Novoselic in their prime. But with bands like Nirvanna around, I still have a chance to fulfill my flannel fueled fantasies in real time.

If I was not already clear enough, these guys are the real deal. Matching the gravitas of Nirvana should be impossible, but Nirvanna knows what they’re doing. As Kurt Cobain once famously wrote, “Come as you are…” and see for yourself on May 7th at the House of Blues Orlando, to go back to 1993 and hear songs from Bleach, Nevermind, and In Utero the way they were meant to be heard: loud.
