In case you’ve been living under a stupid rock for the past few months, Foo Fighters have partnered up with HBO to release an 8 episide TV documentary entitled Sonic Highways. They travel to eight legendary studios in eight different cities across the United States and record a different song in each city for their new album, Sonic Highways. Along the way, they talk to “local legends” from each city. “All the lyrics are inspired by the experiences, interviews and personalities that became part of the process.” Says Dave Grohl, lead singer of Foo Fighters.

The documentary debuts October 17, 2014 on HBO.

During the week of October 13-17, 2014, Foo Fighters will take up a residency on the Late Show With David Letterman.
