Motion City Soundtrack and Commit This to Memory. Two sets of words that have influenced this writer heavily. Can you believe it’s been 10 years since Commit This to Memory came out?! So many things have changed since then, but still, the music stays the same. It still holds many of the same meanings as it did back in high school, when I first heard “Everything is Alright,” and became hooked.

And yet, as I am giving Commit This to Memory another listen today, I find myself getting whisked away, back to nostalgic feelings of fear, because I was that awkward little punk kid in a surfer school. But music has always helped me break barriers, both in my personal and social life, and I’m grateful for that.

I got into Motion City Soundtrack back when they released Commit This to Memory, which is their second album, but I had never had the chance to see them, until Warped Tour 2013, when they were headlining one of the main stages. They were definitely one of my highlights of that show, too.

Motion City Soundtrack recently announced that they were coming back to Orlando in 2015, and would be playing my favorite album in its entirety! So, needless to say, I’m extremely excited about this show, and you should be too! Just to give you a reminder, here’s one of my favorites songs from the album. See you at the show!
