American singer-songwriter Matthew E. White elegantly graced the stage at The Beacham in Orlando last week, opening for St. Vincent. After a long wait in line, I arrived inside, luckily, just before White began his poetic solo performance.

White walked out to a cheering sold-out audience and sat down upon a wooden stool in the middle of the stage with his acoustic guitar, thick beard, and long brown hair. He began delivering a warm, deep sound that echoed passionately throughout the crowded theater. Everyone in the room was swaying from side-to-side, eagerly, almost hypnotically, anticipating his next song. The audience seemed swooned by his beautiful performance, many of which were being introduced to him for the first time.
