This is a warning, concert-going Orlandoans! Lord Huron is riding into town Tuesday, ready to sweep you off your feet. So you’d best guard your indie music-loving heart or be prepared to clear an expansive space in it for this band to dig it’s adventurous, eclectic folk-rockabilly-esque heels into.

Sure, this Los Angeles-based quartet named after a lake in Michigan appears innocent enough. However, mark my words, once your ears get acquainted with them, they will make themselves at home on your turntable and in your headphones. You’ll be captivated by their ethereal sounds, lovely melodies, impossibly catchy hooks, and hauntingly beautiful narratives.

Certainly, you wouldn’t want to listen the first single, “Fool For Love,” off their sophomore LP, Strange Trails, which was released in April — a song NPR named one of its favorites. 😉 That lil’ ditty would definitely lure you into their magical world of entrancing ballads, never to return again.

Heaven forbid you play the entire Strange Trails record from start to finish — a cohesive collection of dark tales disguised as tunes and woven in the retro vein of old spaghetti westerns and sci-fi films — songs which get richer and more charming with every spin under the needle.

This sneaky indie-folk outfit, led by multi-talented Lansing, MI-native, Ben Schneider — whose compelling voice resonates with emotional timbre and often quivers like Elvis Presley — first captivated me with the debut album, Lonesome Dreams — a record in similar atmospheric and thematic style as it successor, but a bit more upbeat and romantic.

Ever since their inaugural work was my soundtrack to the summer of 2012, I’ve been a die-hard LH follower and I predict this same fortunate fate for anyone who attends this concert.

Your final advisement: Lord Huron will put a spell on you. Please proceed with caution — and, hopefully, reckless dancing abandon at The Beacham Tuesday evening (Win Tickets Below).
