The group began in 2014 with multi-instrumentalist Leonid Vorobyev. Vorobyev grew up in Russia during the 1970’s at the height of the Soviet Union. He loved all the classics of rock, The Beatles, Deep Purple, Creedence, etc. But nothing came close to his love for Chicago. “I loved so much the brilliant mixture of rock guitars, drums, and jazz horns with bright vocal harmonies,” he said. Since then Leonid & Friends has recorded videos of other Chicago hits including “Make Me Smile,” “25 or 6 to 4,” and “Saturday In The Park” with no signs of slowing down.

In addition to scoring and arranging, Vorobyev oversees mixing and mastering of each song. It is not just enough to have as many band members as Chicago, they have to sound good too. Which they absolutely do! After several successful Moscow concerts under their belt, Leonid & Friends are ready to bring the rock and roll of Chicago to the U.S. “We have an enormous amount of requests from U.S. fans,” Vorobyev stated. “There is also a dream of many Russian musicians to perform for a real American audience. We are excited to meet our many American friends.”
