LÉON was born in Stockholm, Sweden. Music has surrounded her since her birth, as her mother and father are skilled musicians and composers. Although raised on mostly classical music, LÉON found her groove in soul and rock, being most inspired by artists like Janis Joplin, Etta James, Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, and Beyoncé. LÉON first found success in 2015 after her first single “Tired of Talking” was discovered by Katy Perry and shared on Twitter. Since then, she has released three albums, her first and self-titled Léon, Apart, and her most recent album Circles.

In her teenage years, she fronted a hip-hop/soul band. This is where she began gaining her composition and lyrical writing chops. LÉON’s unique style of indie-pop is reminiscent of her classical upbringing and soulful inspirations. With a smooth, sweeping, and bumping composition that makes you feel like you are floating combined with her dark and smokey voice, she pulls you deeper and deeper into every song. One feels enveloped in the sound listening to songs like “Soaked” and her cover of “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac. LÉON seems to be the newest up and coming edition to the line of Swedish Pop royalty, but she most definitely stands apart from the rest in her own way.
