Kimberly Michelle Pate aka K. Michelle is known for being a singer, songwriter, and reality television personality. Born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1982, Michelle has been a lover of music from the beginning. As a child, she learned to play piano, guitar, and took vocal lessons from Bob Westbrook, the same man who trained artists Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. She went to college in our home state, at Florida A&M University and later decided to pursue music fully which led her to her fame.

In 2009, K.Michelle signed a deal with Jive Records and released her first single “Fakin It” featuring Missy Elliot. This song put her on the map and gained traction for the rest of her career going forward. The single peaked at number 100 in the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs by Billboard music charts. From there, she only rose above in the music world. She has won countless awards, became a known reality TV personality for the show “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,” and has worked alongside big named artists R.Kelly, Trina, Missy Elliot, Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Meek Mill, and many others.

Her sound can be described as passionate and soul touching. She embraces the classic old-school R&B yet has a witty twist with her lyrics. A lot of her music reminisces on heartache and past love.
