Last year, I got to witness some of my very good friends take the “NOW” stage at Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival 2017.

Gary Lazer Eyes won the Destination Okeechobee competition and a bid to play the festival to thousands of new fans. This opportunity is priceless. Okee is the only festival with its own personal estuary from gigging locally to playing alongside national acts.

Witnessing friends get the notoriety they deserve after years on the local circuit, is unreal. Fans I knew, and new friends I just met, gathered at the base of the “NOW” stage as we watched GLE groove in The Grove in larger than life style.

Now, it’s your time.

Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is a four-day surreal experience, filled with multi-genre music, immersive art, and transformative events. One (1) ReverbNation band or solo artist from anywhere in the United States and four (4) Florida-based ReverbNation bands or solo artists will be selected to perform at the 2018 event.”

Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival 2018 performers include Arcade Fire, Bassnectar (2 sets!), Halsey, Travis Scott, Khalid, Foster the People, Leon Bridges, The Flaming Lips, Zeds Dead, Slightly Stoopid, Tipper, Big Gigantic, STS9, Local Natives, Gramatik, Illenium, blackbear, Thievery Corporation, and so many more!

150 Florida-based artists and 10 non-Florida based artists will be selected by the Okeechobee staff and entered into an online fan voting competition on okeechobeefest.com At least 20 Florida-based artists with the most online votes will then perform live at a Battle of the Bands in the city nearest to them. The battles will take place in Orlando, Tallahassee, Miami (or Ft. Lauderdale), and Gainesville (or Jacksonville) Five (5) or six (6) artists will battle in each of the four Florida markets. The sole “winner” from each battle will get to perform at Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival 2018.“

The non-Florida based artist with the most fan votes will not need to perform in a Battle of the Bands show and will automatically get to perform at Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival 2018.
