One of my favorite reggae bands in the game, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, just played a slew of shows throughout the Sunshine State, two of which I was lucky to be at. The first was last Thursday, March 2, at West End Trading Co. in Sanford. The small intimate venue provided for an up close and personal experience, and everyone was dancing as if no one was watching. Opening up the show was Tatanka and SummerLong, both of which did a solid job warming up the crowd. By the time GPGDS took the stage, everyone was ready for a funky reggae party that lasted an hour and forty-five minutes and concluded with a surprise Grateful Dead cover of “New Speedway Boogie.” Check out my Instagram and Periscope posts below, and you can also watch the full set below, thanks to The Sober Goat!

The other GPGDS show I was lucky to be at was Sunday, March 5 at Reggae Rise Up Music Festival (stay tuned for a full review of the festival coming very soon!).

The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart (also #1 on iTunes Reggae Chart) and it is their second release to claim the #1 Billboard spot as their fourth studio album Steady reached the top back in 2014.
