The Fritz played an intimate show at The Social in Orlando on a quiet Wednesday evening. Due to Okeechobee Music Festival being held the upcoming weekend, the crowd turnout was on the lighter side as many ragers opted to conserve their energy and cashola. But that didn’t stop the band from throwing down a special two-hour set to the dedicated fans in the room. It kinda felt like we at a private show, which probably made for a more memorable evening.

The Fritz are: Jamar Woods [keyboard and vocals], Jamie Hendrickson [guitar], Jake O’ Connor [bass], Michael Tillis [drums], and Mike “Mikey Spice” Evans [percussion].

The set included several songs from their 2013 album Bootstrap, including the ever so rocking “Sound. Habits. Blame.” which ended in fashion with Jamar busting a new move with his laser keyboards. Other tracks played from the album included the head-tripping “Voices,” as well as the funkiest track on the record, “Oppenheim.” There was also plenty of new materiel that will be on their upcoming album being released later sometime in the fall. But most notable in the set were the two terrific Talking Heads covers, “Psycho Killer” and “Life During Wartime.”
