Folly Beach, South Carolina-based Dangermuffin teamed up with local homies Savi Fernandez Band for a collective evening of great music. Dangermuffin and SFB became good friends over the past few years and have kicked off collaborations on stages all over the country. It’s been a long time coming for them to team up in Savi’s hometown. This was also the first hometown show for SFB in six months!
Dangermuffin’s newest studio album Heritage is about to be released on March 31. Themes of sea, sun, and spiritual connection weave through the eight-track release combining a cohesive blend of Alt-Americana, Island grooves, Folk and Jam. In celebration of the band’s sixth release, Dangermuffin will tour throughout the spring and summer. “To have a song mean something for somebody is the epitome of the best possible thing you want as an artist,” describes Lotti. “I want this album to help as many people as it can.” Dangermuffin is Dan Lotti, Mike Sivilli, Steven Sandifer, & Markus Helander.
The show got started with some comedy and laughs from Jose, followed by WAS doing some acoustic covers. Dangermuffin took the stage next and played a fun set that included a sweet jam of “Moonscapes” (one of my faves), as well as a Savi sit-in and a “Franklin’s Tower” Grateful Dead cover. Check out Dangermuffin’s setlist below, as well as the Instagram clips and Periscope streams.

This was my fourth Dangermuffin show, and since I first saw them six years ago (almost to the day) at Wanee Music Festival 2011 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL, I knew this band would always be on my radar. Check out my Wanee video of “Moonscapes” below.
The time had come for my man Savi Fernandez to unleash the funky reggae vibes, and they kicked out the jams hard. The band welcomed up Orlando’s own Katie Burkess to put her touch of wonderful guest vocals, and they also welcomed Dangermuffin for some sit-in action as well. Hopefully we’ll get some more combinations of Dangermuffin and Savi Fernndez Band soon. Check out the Instagram clips and Periscope stream of SFB’s set below.
