Conor Oberst made a stop at The Beacham in Orlando with special guest Dawes this month. The house was packed and there were hipsters aplenty. I had never seen Conor Oberst live before and I thought the whole show was great. One unique and interesting thing about this show was that Dawes not only opened the show, but they were also the backing band for Conor! Mitch wrote a great review on the show that you can read here – Conor Oberst Live Review.
I previously saw Dawes at the 2013 Magnolia Music Festival at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. Dawes didn’t disappoint. I think they were a great match for Conor, performing interpretations of his solo material as well as some Bright Eyes tunes. Conor just released his new album Upside Down Mountain this month and I personally think it’s pretty fantastic. Check out one of my new personal favorites off his new album, “Hundreds of Ways” in the video below as well as photos from Lindsay Tompkins Photography!
