COLD is a post-grunge/alternative rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 1986. The group currently consists of Scooter Ward on lead vocals, keyboards, and rhythm guitar, Lindsay Manfredi on bass, Tony Kruszka on drums, Ed Cuozzo on lead guitar, and Angelo Maruzzelli on rhythm guitar. The band is known for their emotionally charged lyrics and heavy, melodic sound. Their music draws inspiration from a variety of genres, including grunge, metal, and alternative rock, citing great names like Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains as major influences.

Year of the Spider was COLD’s third studio album and their most successful release to date. It debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned several hit singles, including “Stupid Girl,” “Suffocate,” and “Happens All the Time.” The album’s dark, introspective lyrics and heavy sound resonated with fans, earning the band a devoted following. The album won critical acclaim and was nominated for several awards, including a Billboard Music Award for Modern Rock Album of the Year. It has since become a cult classic, beloved by fans for its raw emotion and powerful sound.
