Florida born, North Carolina raised, Chase Rice has been a country music lover his whole life. As a young boy, Chase grew up listening to Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Garth Brooks and other artists that would be categorized in the 90’s pop country music sound. Rice spent his early adolescent years dedicating his time and energy to sports and played as a linebacker for the University of North Carolina before enduring an injury that unfortunately sidelined his football career. During that time, he finally picked up guitar and began writing songs. He cites that his father was a huge inspiration to his career. His father once said “boy anyone can play guitar, but no one is gonna really listen to you until you start singing.”

After graduating from UNC, Rice took a job as a part of NASCAR in the pit crew while continuing to perform gigs at bars at night. In 2010, Rice was a contestant on the TV show Survivor: Nicaragua where he was first brought into the public eye. The following year he released a six-song EP, Country as Me followed by the full length album Dirt Road Communion a year later. Yet, his true rise to fame came after he accepted a writing opportunity for the song “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line. Rice’s music can be described as a unique blend of traditional country elements with modern sounds. His songs often tell stories of love, heartbreak, and the joys and struggles of everyday life, making them relatable to country music fans everywhere.

Rice signed to Columbia Nashville Records in 2014 and released his major-label debut, Ignite the Night which placed number one on the country charts and sent one single, “Ready Set Roll” into the country’s top five. Since then, he has released three more albums over the course of the past nine years, has performed with well-known country music stars such as Garth Brooks, Florida Georgia Line, Kenny Chesney, etc. and is now heading on his 2023 tour. Chase has 2.2 million albums sold, over 2.1 billion total streams and a legion of passionate fans.

His sixth studio album, I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell debuted on Feb 10th, 2023. Rice has stated that this is one of the most authentic works to date. Following the COVID lockdown, his father dying, and dealing with self-doubt, Rice decided it was time to slow down and gain inward introspection before releasing a new project. “I’m grinding out the best work I’ve ever created. This album represents me finally [harnessing] the best of my ability in hopes of achieving a whole other level of success. I know who I am as an artist and person now,” Rice told The Tennesseean.
